The article considers insurance as a form of implementation of insurance relations in the system of finance. The author studies the socio-economic nature of insurance and its main functions in this area.
The article highlights the qualifying features of insurance relations, which make it possible to distinguish the "insurance relations proper", within the framework of which insurance is carried out. Particular attention is paid to the role of insurance in modern society and its place in the economic structure of the state.
