Abstract
The global pursuit of sustainable development has intensified interest in the green economy as an effective model for balancing economic growth with environmental preservation. In Uzbekistan, transitioning toward a green economy has become a strategic priority, particularly in response to climate change, energy inefficiencies, and resource constraints. Despite the formulation of policy documents and strategies, the lack of practical, sector-specific mechanisms and limited cross-sectoral integration continue to hinder green economic growth in Uzbekistan. This study analyzes Uzbekistan's current green economy status, evaluates international experiences, and proposes context-sensitive mechanisms to enhance green growth indicators. Findings indicate that the most critical sectors for green transformation include energy, construction, transport, agriculture, and waste management. The study identifies ten targeted mechanisms—ranging from green financing and renewable energy promotion to green transport and multi-level governance—that can elevate economic, environmental, and social outcomes. The research integrates national conditions with global best practices to offer an interdisciplinary framework, grounded in comparative analysis, policy review, and statistical modeling. It also highlights emerging demands for eco-specialists and green business services across diverse sectors. Implementing the proposed mechanisms will require coordinated action among public institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Advancing green economic growth in Uzbekistan depends on comprehensive reforms, innovative investments, and strengthening institutional and educational capacities. These efforts will ensure long-term environmental sustainability and economic resilience for future generations.
