Abstract
This article examines the opportunities for establishing and developing tourist-recreational zones in the regions of Uzbekistan. Drawing on international experience and national legislation, the study analyzes conceptual definitions, methodological approaches, and best practices in the organization of free tourist zones. The research highlights the strategic role of such zones in attracting foreign investment, improving infrastructure, and diversifying tourism services. Moreover, the article identifies key challenges related to organizational, economic, and legal aspects that hinder the effective functioning of tourist-recreational zones in Uzbekistan. Based on the findings, practical recommendations are proposed to enhance the competitiveness of regional tourism, ensure sustainable development, and strengthen the socio-economic impact of tourist-recreational zones.
