Abstract

This article explores the global trends in venture capital and evaluates Uzbekistan's emerging experience in this field. Venture capital has become a pivotal force driving innovation, especially in high-tech sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and clean energy. The study compares international investment data and insights from major institutions like McKinsey and Crunchbase, revealing key patterns and shifts in venture funding. While global venture capital markets have seen substantial growth, Uzbekistan is actively building a conducive environment for venture investments through comprehensive reforms, institutional support, and international collaboration. The paper identifies the country’s efforts to promote a robust startup ecosystem, such as the establishment of technology parks and acceleration programs, with a focus on legal reforms and fostering foreign partnerships. Despite these advancements, challenges remain, particularly in legal frameworks and investor protections, which require further attention to sustain growth. Drawing from global best practices, the article recommends strengthening the legal environment, expanding international cooperation, and diversifying funding sources to support innovation-driven growth in Uzbekistan. This study highlights the potential of venture capital to catalyze economic transformation in Uzbekistan, stressing the importance of aligning national strategies with global investment trends. By leveraging international expertise and adapting global models to local needs, Uzbekistan can enhance its competitiveness in the global venture capital landscape.
