Abstract
This study analyzes the quality and efficiency of hotel management in the Samarkand region, emphasizing the need to implement modern management practices and digital transformation within the hospitality industry. The hotel sector plays a critical role in supporting Uzbekistan’s tourism-driven economic growth, making the efficiency of its management system a key determinant of competitiveness. Despite significant reforms in tourism infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, many hotels in Samarkand still face challenges related to outdated infrastructure, insufficient staff qualification, and limited use of digital technologies. Previous research has primarily focused on economic performance and service quality indicators but lacks a comprehensive assessment framework integrating managerial efficiency, technological innovation, and market adaptation. This study aims to identify and evaluate the main factors influencing hotel management efficiency and propose strategic recommendations for sustainable development. The research applies qualitative analysis using performance evaluation tables and comparative criteria across management dimensions such as staff competence, marketing strategy, technological integration, and customer satisfaction. The results reveal that while service quality in most hotels meets basic standards, issues remain in staff training, marketing efficiency, and technological adoption. Implementing targeted training programs, strengthening online marketing, and upgrading infrastructure are identified as key improvement measures. The study provides a structured analytical model that can serve as a policy and management tool for enhancing hotel competitiveness in regional tourism development and supports the modernization of Uzbekistan’s hospitality management practices in line with international standards.
