Abstract

This article presents the features, priorities, and directions for implementing modern approaches to ensuring regional economic security. Conclusions were also made on the implementation of modern approaches to ensuring the economic security of the region. The study summarizes scientific viewpoints on the nature of economic security and highlights the interdependence between regional development, competitiveness, resource sustainability, and institutional stability. Special attention is given to the role of digital transformation, energy diversification, innovative clusters, financial stability, and human capital development as key pillars of modern economic security strategies. The research also emphasizes the importance of regional and international cooperation, noting that effective economic security today depends not only on internal economic capacity but also on the ability of regions to integrate into global and regional economic networks. Furthermore, the article outlines a comprehensive system of modern mechanisms—ranging from cybersecurity and renewable energy to risk monitoring and the modernization of infrastructure—designed to safeguard regional interests in the long run. The findings suggest that economic security can only be ensured through an integrated, forward-looking approach that balances economic growth with social welfare, environmental sustainability, and technological innovation. Ultimately, the study concludes that regions adopting modern, flexible, and innovative approaches will be better positioned to withstand external shocks and maintain sustainable development in an increasingly competitive global environment.
