Abstract
The integration of digital tec[1]hnology in education has become increasingly vital, offering interactive and engaging alternatives to traditional learning methods. In Indonesian language instruction, particularly in the teaching of procedural texts, conventional approaches often fail to sustain student motivation and comprehension. While the effectiveness of gamified learning tools like Quizizz has been generally acknowledged, limited empirical evidence exists regarding its targeted application in procedural text instruction under Indonesia’s 2013 and Merdeka Curricula. This study aims to examine the implementation and effectiveness of the Quizizz platform in enhancing the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 01 Manado. Using qualitative methods—interviews, observations, questionnaires, and test data—the study found a 79% overall success rate, with most students achieving scores above 80. Increased accuracy following Quizizz use indicated improved understanding, though some students required additional support for complex questions. This research uniquely situates the Quizizz platform within curriculum-aligned pedagogical practices, demonstrating how its gamification features foster deeper engagement and procedural literacy. The findings underscore the platform’s potential as a complementary digital tool that enhances interactivity and feedback mechanisms in language learning. However, they also highlight the necessity of continued teacher involvement and tailored interventions to address learning disparities, ensuring all students benefit equitably from digital innovations.
