Gerontology and Adult Education in Rivers State

The issues of gerontology are yet to get proper analysis in the education in Rivers state. Gerontology is the study of the elderly and in most cases seen as those elders who are retired and exhausted in their areas of life or potentials in their various places of endeavors. People think they can help shape the future of the country or community. In this piece, the author takes a stand on the idea that adult education might help seniors realise how much they can still offer to society's progress. Examining the idea of ageing in connection to adult education, the research finds that adult education is crucial. With the right programmes for guiding and counselling in place, it may alleviate some of the difficulties that the elderly experience, allowing them to better manage their bodily processes and make positive contributions to society as a whole.
