Abstrak
This work aims to assess the economic sectors’ evolution during the years of independence of the Navoi region that described in the article, such as cattle breeding and karakul sheep breeding as major activities that respond for socio-economic development of the desert area. The study also assesses district programs and reforms concerning the sustainable state agricultural development based on statistical data of the districts of Konimex, Tomdi, and Uchkuduk. The publicly available findings emphasize important changes in numerous aspects of cattle raising; the formation of new breeds of sheep; the progress that has been made in the process of developing cooperation in the sphere of farm work; and the rise in the export rates of wool and karakul pelts. The implication of the study is that while over the years policies as well as the strategic investments have served importance in enhancing the conversion of the desert economy from a low productive one relying on mere subsistence to export oriented type of economy the said points have not contradicted with socio-economic difficulties of the remote area.
