Abstrak
Speech skill development is also a very important part of personal and professional development as it allows individuals to express their ideas in a clear and persuasive, and confident manner. In this paper, concepts are examined in regard to the pedagogical basis for the improvement of the speech skills of the students due to the reading of literary pieces and fulfilling of the attached tasks. Specification is made on the practicalization of theoretical knowledge with exercises which develop voice, diction, rhythm and expressive articulation. The analysis emphasises the role of literary works, such as a classic story or a fable or a fairy tale, as the means of vocabulary expansion as well as the development of emotional intelligence as well as stylistic awareness, and vividly expressing ideas. The expressive reading technique, role-playing, and special exercises that focus on the vocal resonance, accuracy in pronunciation, and improve dynamics in the speech are discussed the useful techniques to strengthen the speech. As well, the significance of physical and mental preparations to speech, such as appropriate breathing, vocal exercises, as well as the condition of the speech organs, is discussed to ensure learners can be able to speak in front of an audience. Using the examples of textbooks, methodological guidebooks, and classical literature, the article proves that systematic, regular practice helps learners to increase their lexicon, train their stylistic sensitivity, and acquire self-confidence in expressing themselves. Throughout the integration of theoretical teaching with real-life practice, teachers can inculcate the skill of making coherent, effective, and interesting speech among students. In the end, this study makes clear that not only is the art of speech an academic or technical aspect, but it is also a lifelong endeavour that incorporates knowledge, imagination, and emotive appeal to evoke and motivate others.
