Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the history of formation and the theoretical foundations of the study of causality as a fundamental category of philosophy, logic, and linguistics. The main stages in the development of ideas about cause-and-effect relations are examined, from ancient philosophy to contemporary interdisciplinary approaches. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of causality in linguistics, where it functions as one of the most important means of reflecting the objective connections of reality within the structure of language.
