Abstract

This research purpose to analyze the role of information security in computerized information systems and its impact on preserving the credibility of financial record through an applied study at Gulf Trading Bank for the period from 2015 to 2024. Financial facilities, especially banks, heavily rely on automated information systems to manage their financial information, making the security and safeguard of this data from electronic risks imperative to safeguard the accuracy and reliability of financial account. The study is premised on collecting and analyzing information from the bank’s yearly reports, in addition to interrogation with IT and bureaucracy officials, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of information security systems and policies used to safeguard financial data. The results revealed a strong favourable correlation between implementing strict information security measure and the credibility of financial account, as security procedures contributory to reducing opportunities for data handling and minimizing cyber breach risks that could adversely affect financial data. The study also identified a range of challenging faced by Gulf Commercial Bank in information for example, including the continued evolution of cyber threats and the necessity for normal updates to security along with, alongside the importance of ongoing training and awareness for employees. In light of these findings, the study recommends improved information security strategies by investment in modern technologies, evolving comprehensive security guideline, and focusing on rearing security awareness among bank staff to secure the sustainability of the credibility of financial account.
