Abstract

This research explores the impact of mobile banking applications on the financial behavior of university students, specifically focusing on the case study of the Bank of Baghdad (University Branch). The main purpose is to identify the impact of mobile banking services adoption on saving, spending as well as transaction regularity in youth customers. A descriptive–analytical design was used with the help of original bank records. The study population consisted of (18–35) years old people, and the data using a purposive sampling of (500) active accounts for users of the mobile application. Statistical analysis showed that “use of mobile banking applications has a positive effect through payment regularity and strengthens the savings habits of young student students.” (Study Data). Nevertheless, several barriers were identified. These include low digital literacy and limited confidence in security mechanisms, both of which inhibit the fullest use of the technology. This can be achieved through increasing campaigns for awareness and simplifying application interfaces, allowing more people to engage with solutions of digital banking.
