History of the Penetration of Irfan Motifs Into Russian Literature

The article presents facts revealing the reasons behind the penetration of Sufi ideas into Russian literature at the beginning of the 19th century as a new genre phenomenon. The author examines the foundations of Sufism, its origins, and the influence of this teaching on Western literature and, specifically, on Russian poetry. The author's reflections are supported by concrete evidence and identify the specific writers and poets in whose works Sufi motifs can be discovered.
