Abstract

The article examines grammatical mechanisms of pragmatization of phraseological units in Russian and Uzbek languages. The study is based on a cognitive-pragmatic approach and aims to identify the role of grammatical parameters in shaping illocutionary force, evaluative orientation and communicative effect of idiomatic expressions. It is argued that grammatical categories of person, number, modality and syntactic structure function not merely as formal elements but as tools of pragmatic actualization. A comparative analysis demonstrates that while the conceptual core of phraseological units remains stable, their grammatical realization varies depending on communicative intention and discourse context. The research argues that grammatical categories such as person, number, modality, tense, and syntactic configuration function not only as formal linguistic markers but also as dynamic instruments of pragmatic actualization that allow speakers to adapt idiomatic expressions to communicative goals, interpersonal relations, and discourse conditions. Through comparative analysis, the study demonstrates that while phraseological units preserve their conceptual and figurative foundations across languages, their pragmatic potential is activated through grammatical modification, contextual embedding, and speaker intention.
