Abstract

The article views the lexical-semantic development of enlightenment-philosophical vocabulary in the periods of the Old Uzbek language(Chagataý). Through the lens of common philosophical families from Islamic theology, Sufism, Persian-Arabic intellectual trends and socio-political developments, this study investigates the processes of formation, transformation and semantic changes of these philosophies. A diachronic, comparative-historical, and semantic field analysis approach is used in the research. The results of the study show that in the enlightenment-philosophical vocabulary used by classical authors like Alisher Navoi, they were not only understood and discussed in a religious-theological sense, but also - ethical, metaphysical and humanistic.
