Abstract
This article analyzes the formation of postmodern literature, its historical and cultural roots, as well as its role in the literary process. The author thoroughly studies the philosophical foundations of postmodernism, its stylistic features, and its impact on the consciousness of society and the individual, which emerged in the second half of the 20th century. Particularly, such techniques as intertextuality, fragmentation, pastiche, and irony, and the ambiguity of reality are highlighted as the main features of postmodern works. The article reveals the characteristics of postmodernism as a global phenomenon, using literary experiences in America, Europe, and other regions as examples. This scholarly work strives to analyze postmodernism comprehensively within the framework of modern literary studies.
