Institutional Reforms in Uzbekistan's Agriculture and the Stages of Development of Farming Enterprises

During the institutional and economic reforms gradually carried out in Uzbekistan, farming enterprises are established on lands granted under long-term lease. This has created the foundation for the formation of a class of genuine owners that ensures stability and development in rural areas. At the present stage, the number of farms, the size of their land plots, and the composition of their workforce have been optimized, and the efficiency of their incomes is increasing. These results open up wide opportunities for effectively addressing the priority tasks set out in the “Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy regarding the sustainable development of agriculture and farming enterprise production.
