Somatic Phraseological Units and Their Research on Linguistic Specificity

The aim of this research is to study the analysis and the fact of somatic phraseological units and their linguistic specificity. Expressions, which are somatic phraseological units, refer to parts of human body, and are used for indications of metaphorical or figurative meanings. This study will work with semantic and pragmatic functions of these units in different languages, and their cultural implications. In the analysis, some somatic phraseological units from languages are compared, in relation to their uses across contexts. In addition, the study will examine the place of somatic phraseological units in the course of language acquisition and in cross cultural communication. The results of this study will help add to a picture of the linguistic and cultural meanings of somatic phraseological units.
