Abstract

In this article, a poetic analysis of the symbol of the “eye” one of the most frequently employed images in Alisher Navoiy’s poetry is presented. In particular, the study examines how Alisher Navoiy skillfully utilized the somatic image of the eye and its synonyms in the Uzbek language, as well as their Persian and Arabic equivalents, throughout his ghazal repertoire. It is demonstrated that Navoiy, through his masterful and refined artistic innovations, significantly contributed to the enrichment and elevation of the aesthetic value of the eye symbol in classical poetry.
