The Role of Innovation Ecosystems in Small Business Development

This article examines the impact of innovation ecosystems on the growth and development of small businesses. Innovation ecosystems, which include networks of startups, incubators, accelerators, research institutions, investors, and government support programs, provide essential resources, knowledge, and collaboration opportunities that enable small enterprises to innovate and compete effectively. The study analyzes both local and international cases to identify key factors contributing to successful ecosystem-based innovation. Findings indicate that small businesses integrated into active innovation ecosystems achieve higher levels of technological adoption, market expansion, and sustainable growth compared to isolated enterprises. The paper also discusses challenges such as limited access to resources, insufficient collaboration, and policy gaps, and provides recommendations for strengthening innovation ecosystems to support small business development.
