Abstract

This study investigates the contribution of both financial and non-financial incentives to fostering happiness in the workplace. Workplace happiness is recognized as a crucial element that influences employee satisfaction, which subsequently drives higher levels of performance and productivity. The research explores the role of financial incentives such as wages and bonuses and moral incentives such as appreciation and fostering a sense of belonging in enhancing employees’ happiness and overall job satisfaction.
To achieve this, the study employed a descriptive-analytical approach by examining data collected through a questionnaire distributed to a sample of technical staff at the Al-Diwaniyah Technical Institute. Out of 221 questionnaires distributed, 180 were deemed valid and used for analysis. The objective was to evaluate how financial and moral incentives impact employees' sense of happiness within the work environment.
The results demonstrated a statistically significant positive correlation between both forms of incentives and workplace happiness. Based on these findings, the study recommends that institutions implement a balanced incentive structure that addresses both material and emotional needs of employees. Such a system is likely to enhance job satisfaction, promote psychological well-being, and contribute to improved performance and the successful attainment of organizational objectives.
