Abstract

Many businesses around the world have struggled with the consequences of inadequate employee training and development, particularly during times of uncertainty such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This study reviews the experiences of staff members at Coorg Coffee Works during the outbreak, focusing on how training and development influenced their performance and the company’s overall resilience. From a workforce of 100 employees, 30 participants were randomly selected for the research. The findings indicate that Coorg Coffee Works was able to sustain its competitive position in the market by implementing structured training programs that not only improved employee satisfaction but also reduced turnover rates. New employees, in particular, benefited from targeted training initiatives, which helped them adapt more quickly, work more efficiently, and contribute to higher productivity levels. The training plan also supported succession planning by preparing employees for greater responsibilities in the future. Overall, the results reveal a strong and positive correlation between effective training and development and employee success. The study highlights the need for Coorg Coffee Works to design and implement a comprehensive training and development strategy to ensure that workers remain skilled, motivated, and capable of supporting long-term organizational growth, even in the face of crises such as a global pandemic.
