Abstract

The study aims at examine the effect of changes in prices of consumer goods on sale turnover of small and medium-enterprises in Nigeria. Cross-sectional research design and simple random sampling technique through self-administered questionnaire were utilized Data were collected from a sample of 80 registered and operational SMEs. Data collected were analyzed using Partial Least Square—Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings of the study reveals that insignificant effect of exchange rate on sales growth of SMEs in Nigeria. Similarly, the findings show that Transportation cost has significant and positive effect on sales growth of SMEs in Nigeria. It was therefore recommended that the government of the country should regulate and moderate the exchange rate movement in order to ensure that it brings about more growth and development in the country.
