Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate how digital transformation can be used to improve the environmental performance of sustainable manufacturing based on an applied field research in Kronji Company. The study issue was the extent to which the digital transformation can lead to the improvement of the environmental performance indicators and decrease the waste of industrial organizations. The authors applied a descriptive-analytical research method and utilized the checklist as the primary method of data collection, which was imposed on a sample of 39 company employees. The research framework consisted of two key variables: independent variable (digital transformation) that comprised of its dimensions (people, process, digital technology platforms, and partners), and dependent variable (environmental performance) that comprised of its dimensions (resource efficiency, waste reduction, pollution prevention, and life cycle assessment). The statistical findings, which were examined with the help of SPSS software, revealed that there was a statistically significant correlation and significant effect of digital transformation towards improving the environmental performance. The value of coefficient of determination (R2) was approximately 0.447, which means that the digital transformation can account about 44.7 percent of the changes in the environmental performance of the company under investigation.
