Abstract

Jewelry art occupies a significant place in the development of applied decorative arts in Uzbekistan, reflecting the rich cultural heritage, aesthetic values, and craftsmanship traditions of the region. Historically, Uzbek jewelry evolved through interactions with ancient civilizations, trade routes such as the Silk Road, and diverse socio-cultural influences. Traditional jewelry not only served decorative purposes but also carried symbolic meanings related to social status, spirituality, protection, and identity. This paper explores the historical stages of jewelry art development in Uzbekistan, its regional stylistic features, materials and techniques, and its role in preserving national artistic traditions. The study also examines contemporary transformations of jewelry craftsmanship in the context of globalization, modernization, and cultural revival policies. Understanding the historical evolution of jewelry art contributes to strengthening cultural continuity and promoting the sustainable development of applied decorative arts in Uzbekistan.
