Abstract
Gastritis is classified in different ways depending on how long you've had it (whether it's recent or ongoing), what your stomach tissue looks like under a microscope, where in the stomach it's found, and what causes it. When gastritis is new and happens suddenly, it's called acute gastritis. If acute gastritis isn't treated, it can become a long-term problem known as chronic gastritis. This means that if you don't get the right treatment for your gastritis, it can linger and continue causing discomfort
