Abstract
Out-of-hospital pneumonia is an urgent problem for pediatric practice. In recent years, there has been an increase in out-of-hospital pneumonia in children, with a relatively high mortality rate. Over the past 5 years, many clinical and epidemiological studies related to pneumonia have been carried out and presented in the world scientific literature. Pneumonia is an infectious disease associated with the entry of microorganisms into the lungs. The inflammatory reaction that occurs in this depends on the number and virulence of microorganisms in the lung parenchyma, the state of the respiratory tract, the protective mechanisms of the body as a whole. The drug polyoxidonium has pronounced immunomodulatory activity, affects the innate immune system, enhances the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1 and interferon alpha).
