The Role of Immunological Factors in the Development of Enterocolitis After Surgical Treatment of Hirschsprung’s Disease in Children

This study examined the role of immunological factors in the development of enterocolitis following surgical treatment of Hirschsprung’s disease (HD) in children. Forty-eight patients who underwent radical surgery were evaluated, including 20 who developed postoperative enterocolitis. Measurements included secretory IgA, serum IgG, proinflammatory cytokines (IL 6, TNF α), and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio.
