Abstract

This study examines traditional cobalt-based catalysts used in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) for the production of liquid hydrocarbons from synthesis gas. The research focuses on catalyst composition, preparation methods, activation processes, and the influence of promoters and particle size on catalytic performance. Various preparation techniques, including impregnation, co-precipitation, and physical mixing, are analyzed. The results demonstrate that catalyst structure, promoter type, and cobalt particle size significantly affect activity, selectivity, and stability. The findings highlight the importance of optimizing catalyst design to improve efficiency and product distribution in FTS processes.
