The Impact of Implementing E-Governance on Combating Administrative Corruption in the Public Service

E-governance is an administrative system that is modern, founded on the use of information and communication technologies to organize and manage the work of a public utility, and the goal of its work is to promote the efficiency of performance and strengthen the principles of transparency and integrity. This system plays a key role in curbing expressions of administrative corruption by adopting electronic systems that would ensure accurate monitoring of all the administrative and financial processes, thus preventing manipulation of data and hiding of abuses and malpractices associated with the system of bribery, embezzlement and misuse of power in the context of the state service. Despite the rapid development of information and communication technologies, and the challenges this poses for the governments of developing countries in implementing e-governance due to limited resources, these obstacles no longer constitute sufficient justification for refraining from adopting e-governance, particularly in light of the urgent need to implement it at various levels in a manner that achieves the development of public administration and safeguards public funds.
