Abstract
The study of semantics has garnered significant attention from linguists due to its complexity and interdisciplinary applications. Although traditionally confined to lexical meanings, recent research has expanded its scope to include all language levels, encompassing phonetics, syntax, and pragmatics. This paper explores the evolution of semantic theories, highlighting their relevance across linguistic systems. The interplay between explicit and implicit meanings, the dynamics of linguistic activity, and the processes of explication are analyzed. By examining the contributions of prominent scholars and integrating insights from modern linguistic paradigms, this study aims to redefine the boundaries of semantics in contemporary linguistic discourse.
