Abstract

Jadid literature is one of the phenomena that brought a profound transformation to Uzbek cultural and social life, serving as a means to modernize society and elevate national consciousness and culture. Emerging in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this movement found vivid expression not only in journalism and drama but also in poetry. The key characteristics of Jadid poetry include patriotism, enlightenment, progressive ideas, and a focus on awakening the people. Today, teaching Jadid literature and poetry in general education schools holds great significance. It not only provides students with historical knowledge but also fosters their critical thinking and strengthens their national identity. This article comprehensively analyzes the importance of Jadid literature, the distinctive features of Jadid poetry, and the issues related to its teaching in general education schools.
