Abstract
The present article is devoted to analysis of gender stereotypes formed in the English phraseology. There is an analysis of the semantic meaning of genderly marked phraseological units as well as to connotative and contextual surrounding that influences on general phraseological meaning. Theoretical content of the article has been proved by numerous examples of phraseological units and extracts chosen from literary texts.
