Abstract

The author, in the current article, attempts to give a brief and to the point account to the challenges faced by non-native students in learning the prepositions ( in , on and at ) . He introduces the concept of prepositions and the uses of the prepositions in question . Then , he moves to uncover the difficulties . In this articles , the author presents the approaches that teachers might follow in teaching students the prepositions at hands. This article gives information to the teachers as it makes them aware of the inabilities and errors of students in using the prepositions. It might be used as a guideline to English language teachers and they evolve their preposition teaching methods .Teachers , by banking on this article , can reduce and remove the difficulties of the learners . The article says or concludes that non-native speakers relate the English prepositions to their language preposition and due to that they face challenges in learning the prepositions . The English prepositions have several meanings and uses that confuse the learners
