Issues of Universal Human Values in Building Civil Society

This article analyses the historical formation, essence, and contemporary interpretations of the concept of civil society, substantiating the role of the idea of building a just and free society at various stages of human progress, as well as the fact that civil society is a socio-philosophical category inextricably linked to universal human values. Furthermore, the views of antiquity and the approaches of the European Enlightenment era are examined through comparative analysis, and the evolutionary development of civil society is explored. In addition, the significance of such principles as human freedom, social justice, and the rule of law is elucidated, and the issues of harmonizing these principles with national values are addressed.
