Abstract
General Background: The digitalization of the economy has become a driving force for economic growth, transforming industries, enhancing productivity, and reshaping labor markets. As digital technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and e-commerce advance, they create new economic opportunities while simultaneously altering traditional workforce structures. Specific Background: In Uzbekistan, digital transformation has gained momentum, with national policies emphasizing the integration of digital platforms, smart manufacturing, and financial technologies. While digitalization enhances economic efficiency, it also introduces challenges related to workforce adaptation, the emergence of new professions, and the need for continuous skill development. Knowledge Gap: Despite the evident benefits of digitalization, there is limited research on its direct impact on human resources, particularly in terms of job creation, skill shifts, and labor market resilience in Uzbekistan. Understanding how digitalization influences employment trends and workforce readiness remains a critical area for exploration. Aims: This study analyzes the main directions of economic digitalization and its impact on human resources, focusing on skill transformation, employment shifts, and the role of education in workforce adaptation. Results: The findings indicate that digitalization fosters job automation, the rise of remote work, and demand for advanced digital skills. However, a skills gap persists, requiring systematic educational reforms and industry-driven training programs. Novelty: Unlike previous studies that broadly examine digital transformation, this research provides an in-depth analysis of its effects on workforce dynamics and future labor market trends. Implications: The study underscores the necessity for governments, educational institutions, and businesses to collaborate on digital literacy programs, upskilling initiatives, and policy frameworks that ensure a smooth transition to a digital economy while maximizing human resource potential.
