Abstract
This article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of low-pressure mini hydroelectric power plants (MHPPs). The main objective of the study is to assess the technical, economic and environmental factors encountered in the development and implementation of such plants. Initially, the state of development of the MHP technology was studied based on the available scientific literature. Then, the main parameters affecting the efficiency of low-pressure MHPs were modeled in the MATLAB programming environment and analyzed in the form of graphs. The graphs showed the efficiency of power generation at different pressure levels. The environmental safety, operational convenience and advantages of MHPs as an energy source for remote areas were also highlighted. At the end of the study, the disadvantages of these systems - low power, investment cost and dependence on natural resources - were discussed in detail. This article serves as an important source for making strategic decisions on the implementation of low-pressure MHPs.
