Abstract
This paper explores a comparative analysis of English and Uzbek proverbs from both linguistic and cultural perspectives. Proverbs, as concise expressions of wisdom and social values, reflect the worldview, traditions, and way of thinking of a nation. The study highlights similarities and differences in the structure, metaphorical usage, and thematic content of proverbs in both languages. It also examines how cultural values and historical experiences shape the use and meaning of these proverbs. By analyzing selected examples, the research provides insights into the linguistic richness and cultural uniqueness of English and Uzbek proverbial expressions.
