Abstract

This article examines the role of self-monitoring methods in foreign language learning, with a focus on reflection and communication exercises. It explains how these strategies enhance learners’ self-awareness, motivation, and language proficiency. The article outlines practical classroom techniques for integrating reflective journals, peer interaction, goal-setting, and technology-enhanced tools. Drawing from educational research, it discusses the benefits of self-regulated learning and proposes a framework for implementation. These practices encourage students to take ownership of their learning, promoting autonomy and sustained language development.
