Abstract
This article analyzes the cognitive processes involved in the understanding and perception of phraseological units. Phraseological units are stable, meaningful, and often imaginative expressions of a language that form certain images and concepts in the human mind. The study focuses on the exploration of phraseological units from the standpoint of cognitive linguistics, their semantic structure, and their role in cultural context. Furthermore, it examines the cognitive processes involved in the perception of phraseological units by language learners, including features of information reception, retention, and processing.
