Abstract
The paper examines the impact of AI on tackling the problem of examination malpractices in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. The paper used secondary data. The secondary data were collected from both print and online publications. Content analysis was used to analyze the selection of literature for the study. The paper noted that AI has also played a significant role in the detection and prevention of mal-practices in examinations. With the help of AI tools, institutions can monitor exam sessions and detect any suspicious activities, such as attempts to cheat or use unauthorized materials. This has contributed to a decrease in the number of mal-practices reported in the Nigerian tertiary institutions. Based on this the federal and state government should increase the budgetary allocation of tertiary institutions in Nigeria to able the institutions acquire modern technological infrastructure facilities in their respective institutions. The institutions should organize training for staff in charge on how to use and maintain the facilities. Private institutions and parents should also support the tertiary institutions by contributing to the provision of these technological facilities to make them adequate for each institutions.
