Abstract
The twenty-first century requires educators to adopt innovative pedagogical approaches that equip learners with essential life skills. The 4C model—comprising critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration—provides a comprehensive framework for preparing students to succeed in academic, professional, and social contexts. This article examines the theoretical foundations, pedagogical implications, and practical applications of the 4C model in foreign language teaching. Drawing upon recent research and classroom practices, the paper highlights the role of the 4C model in enhancing learners’ communicative competence, intercultural awareness, and problem-solving abilities. The article argues that integrating the 4C model into foreign language education not only promotes linguistic proficiency but also fosters transferable skills that are vital for global citizenship. Practical strategies are presented for language teachers to design lessons that incorporate authentic materials, collaborative projects, critical inquiry, and creative expression. The paper concludes with recommendations for educators and policy makers to institutionalize the 4C model within curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment frameworks.
