Abstract

This study investigates the strategies and best practices for managing cybersecurity risks in educational technology (EdTech) environments. Through a systematic review of the literature, the study explores the types of cybersecurity threats faced by educational institutions, examines the components of effective cybersecurity strategies, and analyzes successful case studies of cybersecurity implementation. The findings reveal that educational institutions encounter diverse cybersecurity threats, including data breaches, ransomware attacks, phishing, and insider threats. To mitigate these risks, institutions need to adopt proactive measures, such as conducting risk assessments, establishing robust cybersecurity governance structures, implementing employee training and awareness programs, and deploying access controls and encryption mechanisms. The study highlights the importance of collaboration between stakeholders, leadership involvement, and continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices. The successful case studies emphasize the integration of multiple cybersecurity measures, including security awareness training, vulnerability management, incident response planning, and ongoing training initiatives. By implementing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and best practices, educational institutions can safeguard sensitive information, protect against cyber threats, and ensure the secure and uninterrupted delivery of educational services. The findings of this study provide valuable insights and recommendations for educational institutions and stakeholders involved in managing cybersecurity risks in EdTech environments.
