Abstract

Genes express the genetic potential inherent in agricultural animals and therefore this article aims to explain the importance of genetic markers to be adopted in improving the characteristics of Awassi sheep through the selection of individuals with distinct genotypes associated with the best production. A number of genetic markers and their relationship to some traits in Iraqi Awassi sheep were studied in this article.
