Abstract

Hip dysplasia encompasses a variety of developmental abnormalities that impact the hip joint to varying degrees of severity. Diagnosis relies on clinical observations made during a physical examination. Newborns with hip dislocation often present with palpable hip joint instability, uneven lengths of the lower extremities, and asymmetry in thigh skin folds.
