Abstract

During pregnancy, inflammation and retraction of the gums, marginal periodontitis, a decrease in the density of collagen fibers in the periodontium, a decrease in the mesiodistal diameter of the interdental septa can develop from the maxillofacial region, which leads to fibrous degeneration of the walls of periodontal blood vessels and, as a result, the development of periodontitis [1, 2, 9].
