Abstract

This article examines the impact of urbanization and urban-regional environment on adolescents’ national identity. The study indicates that the social, cultural, and economic characteristics of urban and regional settings significantly influence adolescents’ acceptance of national values, formation of national identity, and level of cultural awareness. Adolescents living in urban areas often need to balance global and local values, which complicates the process of forming a strong national identity. At the same time, regional and family cultural environments, supporting national traditions, facilitate adolescents’ deeper understanding of their national values. The article provides a systematic analysis of how urbanization and urban-regional environments affect the personal and cultural development of adolescents’ identity.
