Abstract

The Romantic period in music occupies an important place in the history of world musical culture. This era, which developed mainly during the nineteenth century, reflected the emotional, spiritual, and artistic aspirations of society through expressive melodies, expanded harmonic language, national elements, and personal creativity. Teaching Romantic music styles in music culture lessons plays a significant role in the aesthetic, emotional, and intellectual development of students. Through acquaintance with Romantic music, students develop musical thinking, emotional sensitivity, artistic imagination, and cultural awareness. This article examines the pedagogical importance of introducing students to the Romanticism music style in music culture classes, the educational possibilities of Romantic music, and the methods of forming students’ musical perception through listening, analysis, discussion, and creative activities. The article also highlights the educational value of Romantic composers’ works, the psychological influence of Romantic music on students, and the importance of integrating interactive teaching approaches into music lessons. Romantic music helps learners understand the emotional depth of art, encourages independent thinking, and strengthens appreciation for world musical heritage. The article emphasizes that systematic and meaningful teaching of Romanticism contributes not only to musical literacy but also to the moral and spiritual education of students.
