THE EFFECT OF DEXAMETHASONE ON THE ACTIVITY OF SOME IMMUNE CELLS IN THE ALBINO MOUSE

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dexamethasone drug, on the cell activity of spleen Cells and Bone marrow cells by measuring the Mitotic Index of these cells. This study included the use of albino mice that were injected with (8 mg) of the drug dexamethasone. After that, a single-cell suspension of bone marrow cells and spleen cells was prepared, and their mitotic index was calculated using the mitotic index equation. The results showed an increase in the mitotic index of bone marrow cells, while there was a decrease in the miotic index of spleen cells, and this shows that there is a different effect of dexamethasone on different organs of the body.
